Steinmannli or 'Unmögliche Männer'

Everyone knows the piles of stone up on the mountains, small endless columns of a sort. In Switserlnd they are called 'Steinmannli', what can be translated as small stone men.
I have been making stone men, but they are really impossible, contradict nature and physical laws. These men are really impossible! (Unmöglich) So please enjoy!

Hey... nice pics, I prefer #2, but the almost abstract nature of the subjects would look better in B&W, just some personal preference though.

I agree on the B&W and went someway to get that. I have applied the "Easy Gray" profile from Phase One (example: H25 Easy Gray) and this is the outcome.

The 'sculpture' has to stand out against the background. OOF is the common way to do it, and sometimes colour helps. Specifically if you have colours that are contrasting (blue/orange or red/green). Form-contrast is a good way as well. (Even if you have an oblique view!)

So I tried some samples here.
First of all the 'man with a sack on his back' as I call it, in colour (from another angle) and in Easy Grey.
Then the red stone. The first one is 'easy grey' and somewhat pianissimo, without reducing the saturation. I note that using these profiles does not work out (there is banding in the skies). The comparable BW is Panchromatic; the third is normal and the last is BW yellow filter.
(I copied these BW profiles from the Phase One generic profiles folder and Easy Grey from the H25 ).
The couloured ones specifically in the 'red stone' add up in creating the contrast of form & content, and sort of emphasise the composition (and the 'sillyness' of the sculpture, if you understand what I mean).
I finish with 'the red stone' in its habitat.
