On Saturday there was a large meeting in Delhi to protest the continuing Israeli attacks on Gaza. As this photo shows, there was special concern for children killed or maimed.

No idea what that means. However, I do see an unwanted apostrophe.

I think it's obvious what I mean - I don't see any criticism of Hamas regarding the disregard for the welfare of even their own people.

Sorry about the ectopic apostrophe :o.

So you can post a photograph with politically charged image and message but I should only comment on it's content elsewhere? Can I only discuss it's fine tonal range and sharpness? I have not questioned your right to post the photograph here but if you do so then wear the criticism of it's content or go post it in another forum.

I stand by my comments above. These ongoing attacks target the legitimacy of Israel to exist and fuel antisemitism. I have relatives in Israel who were in and out of bomb shelters over this time, in fact for well before this latest conflict erupted. Any casualties of innocent civilians are unacceptable and distressing (note that the dodgy numbers from Hamas imply that all the deaths were of civilians and not fighters!) but I find accusations of genocide and comparison elsewhere to the Holocaust (where most of my parent's famlilies were exterminated) as deeply offensive. If Israel really wanted to commit genocide it would have flattened Gaza and it's population in hours.

I don't agree with everything Israeli governments do and I strongly believe in the right of an independent Palestinian state that does not want to destroy Israel (as per Hamas' charter).

Oh, and I didn't know that 'weak sarcasm' was against forum rules.

I think that the mods may end up editing and/or closing this thread about now......

Hello Mark,

Before this gets pulled. If you find criticism and comparisons of israeli action deeply offensive, i wonder how one would feel wearing the shoes of a resident of Gaza? and before we add to the burn them at the stake mindset towards Hamas, please read through the Likud Charter regarding a Palestinian State.

I would like to think that out of this mess, which has been endured for too long, that some real and meaningful peace will ensue.

I came across Hana Weisfelds at the last London Demonstration, where the number of people was it is estimated between 100,000 to 200,000. She gave a powerful speech, the essential parts of which are here;

In regard to the photo, what captured my mind, was the look of pain on the womans face. A fine photo.
