Andy,

Looks as though you are a Retrophotographic customer! I've just developed my first roll of the Rollei film - now about to try the Adox/Efke stuff.

Keith: Yeah I love some of the stuff they have. I'd be interested hear what you make of the Adox/Efke when you have the results.

I am trying to discipline myself to stick with Agfa/Rollei and Rodinal but I am weak!

Does Age-Fix work on humans? I reckon I'm worth it.

Louis: Can't you hear the world of film calling you? Listen very carefully: "Louis, buy an MP. You know you want to......an MP Louis. Resistance is futile Louis, an MP......the Holy Grail........."

D*mn you Andy! You had to make me go and do it.

I actually set off to buy a s/h Leica MP from a-well-known-shop-that-dare-not-speak-its-name but in fact the one which they have on their web site is a different one than the one I saw 3 weeks ago (which started the yearning). The one they now have is £200 cheaper but also not in as great condition, having a few marks on it.

So, I hummed and haahed and headed off to R G Lewis where lo and behold they had this M6 TTL 0.85 at what I thought was a fair price. Let's put it this way, there were two in the window, identical but one was £200 more than the other because this one was the shop's and the other was on consignment. The one I bought was at least £50 cheaper than the worst one in Aperture and a whole £300 cheaper than the best one in a-well-know-shop-etc.

Incidentally, there is another thread elsewhere about ideal photography shops and this is the second time I've bought from R G Lewis. I know they are taking your money but they are always pleasant and helpful about it and appear to have a real enthusiasm for the products. The sales assistant also threw in thrity quids worth of film so I could try different ones out.

As James Early pointed out in another thread, if I don't like the camera I can probably get most of my investment back (if not all of it) considering it comes complete with all boxes, strap (unused until now) and instructions.

All I can say, is, I hope you are going to give me some lessons on how to use it.
