Blimey, Andy, I did not know this still existed. I'd assumed that it had gone the way of many things from my infancy.....and probably been concreted over for an out of town shopping centre. Nice pictures and thanks for evoking memories almost forgotten.

Louis it has survived though the beautiful 1930's art deco resturant and changing rooms were destroyed by fire several years ago. Too damaged to be rebuilt so it was demolished and a hideous replica built in it's place - I refuse to shoot it!

The water skiing and that big ski jump has gone as have the rowing boats but the railway now runs all the way round the lido and the beach is kept up and cleaned regularly. Though - because of changes in the water flow through the lido - swimming is not advised! Still surrounded by the woods so no encroachment of housing etc.
