Ok, I shall kick off...

I took this photo in Guildford. The electricity box is on the side of the church at the top of the High Street. The building in the background is the Abbots' Hospital, founded by George Abbot, one of Guildford's most famous sons. The "Christian graffiti" caught my eye as an interesting mix of faith and rebellion. the words under the face are "Because I Can".

IIIc, 50mm Summitar, Kodak 400CN.

Bill

Fabio, welcome to the Forum, but I'm afraid your image does not qualify.

This is a competition thread for Leica screwmount camera users only. Please follow the link in my first posting at the top to understand.

Regards,

Bill

I'm sorry to say I missed this one, just didn't get the chance to get out with the camera before the deadline, but having seen the entries so far I'm not sure the shot I had in mind would have been able to compete. Waiting to vote....

Default AW: The First Barnack Challenge - FAITH

My vote:
3 points: # 4 Meditation.> A powerful image, good composition and very well executed. The mood and the symmetry of expression between the priest and the portraits make this the winner for me.
2 points # 12 Loss of Faith > Echoes the style of the first half of the 20th century, where screwmounts hail from, good composition, well executed.Tells a story.
1 point # 9 Feet >Not as classical as the camera it was taken with, but right on topic. I like the subdued colour. It might have been no 2 but for the sneakers.

But there is not one weak photograph in the whole bunch....
