Thank you to everyone who took part in September's Barnack's Monthly, which was another great success. And thank you in particular to those people who posted for the first time - I hope you found it a pleasant and rewarding experience!

 

The Barnack's Monthly theme for October is: Shadows.

 

This means any subject to do with shadows - people, places, things, scenes, in colour or monochrome or infrared or Technicolour or all of them. It's entirely your choice.

 

It's all about shadows and how they can be used to 'make' a pucture whether it's those luscious long, dark shadows that timidly hide until sunset or perhaps the subtle shadows that help to bring out the detail in a portrait's features. They can be shadows from natural light, from artificial light a combination of the two, or even Cliff Richards's Shadows. Open your mind and let your imagination run wild!

 

The rules are deliberately loose so go out and shoot with shadows in mind or start searching back through those pictures you took oh-so long ago that you'd forgotten about and start posting.:D It doesn't have to be your best ever shot and it's not a competition so you might surprise the rest of us and yourself - it's just about sharing some pictures and enjoying yourself!

 

Everybody's welcome to contribute, any interpretation, any number of posts, any equipment as long as it and the photo complies with the forum's rules. Please post freely - especially newcomers and please remember:o there's no judging or criticism (good or bad) in this thread.
