Default Road Dragon

One of the more unusual road median art projects I've ever seen. It stretches for perhaps 100 meters.

I came across it on a new road here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the median strip, the divider between traffic lanes, was this (what to call it?) artistic construction made of concrete and stones. I called it a Dragon, but it could have just as well been meant to be interpreted as a long rattlesnake. In any event, the head is about 12 feet high and the body stretches for quite a distance. You can see, to the far right, where the "body" dips into the ground and then rises again. It must have taken the artist quite a while to construct this.

The city has a public arts program where, no doubt, the funding for this came from. Its quite a sight.
