Sam -

Terrific angle, patterns, details, light and shadow. Very appealing that the man's shadow (due to size and placement) seems like a reflection.

Thanks for looking and commenting...much appreciated. The detailing on the bridge to which the railings belong is quite fascinating - all 1930s mock Egyptian influence, and metalwork in bronze which has oxydized over the years. William - I think this was Sensia (doubt is simply because it was in a batch of 3 films, Sensia and Provia, and the mounted slides have now got mixed up).
cheers:
Sam

Sam,
When I watch this wonderful photo, inevitably I see it in black and white, but in color she is beautiful.
I like much the light and composition.
What so if the person were more to the left, in the hollow of the stairs ?

Well seen Sam.

A lovely capture Sam. The light, shadows, framing and the subdued colours, all work very well for me.

Sam,
A very well constructed shot. I'm seeing it in B&W too.

Very nicely composed. I like both the B/W and color versions. The angles and patters are wonderful.

Default AW: A Walk by the Bridge

Sam,
both pictures are good to me, where I found the coloured one a little better. The colour shades are nearly monochrome and it is this unobtrusive touch that like instead of a hard black& white, in this case.

Regards,
Andreas

Thanx All for looking. I think, on balance, I still prefer the colour version, for precisely the reasons that Andreas says...

Sam, a great one. I especially like the central position of the walking man: it helps to create a tension playing with railings.

Default AW: A Walk by the Bridge

Great, well composed photo. For me the B&W version has the more laconic
statement.

What a great shot. I like it color but the black and white I prefer. It reminds me of Walker Evans.
