John,
Beautiful D2 shot, did you use the Elpro lens? I can't wait for some flowers to blossom round here.

Apologies for cloning your thread title.

Thanks, Pete. No, I just moved in and zoomed in as close as I could.

John,
That's remarkable; was this in or out of doors; what sort of lighting? I continue to be amazed by what the D2 can do in skilled hands. With hindsight we may come to regard it as a classic camera.
Have you any more like this?

Thanks again, Pete. It was outdoors, mid-morning, light shade, hand held. I don't usually shoot flowers but there wasn't much do at my mother-in-law's house, and her landscaping is so beautiful.

Since you asked, here's another one of the same flower from the front, with different treatment. Just playing around in PS.

You're right, the D2 is so versatile. I'm considering an M8, but if the D2 had more pixels and higher ISO capability, that's probably all I'd need. Then again, maybe not.

John

John -

I like them bvoth (and that's interesting subtle toning on the second), but the soft dreamy quality of #1 makes it superb. And yes, I really like my D2, too.
