Default What To Do With a Dead Tree

This carving is at a trail head park along the Rio Grande. There was a devastating fire through here about 4 years ago which killed many salt cedars. Some one got the brilliant idea that instead of cutting them completely down, why not commission some local carvers to give them a new "life"?

What a brilliant idea and superb pictures of the result. Woodcarvers everywhere would be interested in this fine work. Thanks for sharing!

John -

It's almost criminal NOT to do this. Wonderfully realized photos with their light, color and detail.
