vickko Posted October 5, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can someone help me with disassembly for a Summarex 8.5cm f1.5 lens? My lens seems to focus too close (e.g. actual focus is 6 inches closer than where the RF image is). On this lens, does the entire optical unit come off easily? Does it come off by unscrewing the optical unit? I tried unscrewing it and only the front optical group came off, exposing the iris ring and leaves. The rear of the group was still attached to the rest of the focusing mount. If the optical unit doesn't come off by unscrewing it from the focus mount, can you describe how to separate the optical unit from the focusing mount? I assume to reset the focus, I need to re-shim the head from the focus unit. Is that right? regards Vick

thrid Posted October 11, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 11, 2013 I would advise against doing this yourself unless you have an optical bench to collimate the focus of the lens. It a nice lens and uncommon. Not really something you want to work on yourself unless you have the proper tools and training.
