I had an M2 for a while and in many ways it was my favorite M, but issues with the rangefinder meant I sold it (at a large discount because of the fault), and really this new camera would be exactly what I was actually looking for.

Great photokina for Leica - love this camera and even hoping they might release a production version of the M60.

It's handsome - how could it not be? But isn't it the meterless MP that was briefly available eight or nine years ago? Not that it matters, of course. It's just a new old Leica for people with plenty of money who don't already have an old old Leica.

Hence my posting about a MR5, should be a good seller with all those unmetered M's around and the MR4 being way beyond its design life, cheers Rob

Notice that the M-A's shutter dial has the cut out for an MR4 type meter.

I have just bought an MR4 for my M4, there are still good accurate working units out there; use a Wein Cell PX625 1.35v Mercury Free Battery rather than a 1.5v which would mean re-calibrating the meter.

Hai.

The M-A is a very beautifully Leica M. Its the MP (in my opinion one of the most prety Leicas ever) without exposure metering.

Nobody need it except people who are leaving on the top of Mont Everest or directly on the north or south pole whe is not so easy to buy some batteries.

I suppose in this regions is also difficult to buy films or find a laboratory to develope it.;)

So for what this camera when its possible to purchase a MP or M7 or M?

On this Photokina Leica present in my opinion only very beautifully dust catcher for the vitrine.

I expected more.

Enjoy your treasuries.
