Chito Posted March 19, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello! I posted a few months ago when I was agonizing about buying an M240. I've thought about it for years and an M9 definitely wasn't an option (high ISO performance). I've been a Canon user years, but the weight was just too much. I also noticed that I didn't use my macro or telephoto lenses. My most used lenses were the 35L and 50L. I live in Panama and I had never used a rangefinder before, I was a bit worried since I am dreadful at manual focusing my 5D with the high precision focus screen. I bought an RX1 as a stopgap but the auto focus was painfully slow. I kinda decided that I was stubborn enough that if I couldn't focus it I would make it work somehow.. About 3 weeks ago I finally made the jump.. a silver M 240 and a 50 Lux ASPH. I have to admit that after so many years of reading about Leica that the first time I saw and touched the camera and the 50 in person I was a bit underwhelmed in the build quality (even though it is the best built camera I have ever seen). I guess it was over hyped in my mind. I was pleasantly surprised that focusing was actually quite easy for me.. even at f/1.4.. and I'd never thought about it, but because the aperture ring is all manual I can select 1/4 stops haha.. The camera came with the latest firmware and I am glad to say that it has been perfect (no problems) all this time. It wakes up very fast (I have a Sandisk 95 MB/s SD card) and the image quality is superb. I have to say that I really love the camera. If there is anybody from Central America here or even better, Panama please say hello! Welcome, dear visitor!
