Virgil -
Though I like the composition and admire the mare's phiolosophical bent, I think the processing makes the scene too complex and harsh. |

Thanks Stuart. That was my intent...complex,harsh and brutal. Marple was rescued from a life of decades of abuse. She still has PTSD. The gray around her muzzle is in the shape of a harness that was left in place for many years because she "could not be caught". Now she is the first to come, willingly. This is what makes her a great therapy equine (mini mule actually)---but it has taken years of rehab.

Nice horse but I would like the background to have a different texture than the horse for contrast.

Virgil,
Wonderful capture of a wonderful animal. I commend you for taking the effort to rehab and socialize this lovely animal. Paul

I actually like the way the textures of horse and background meld together; especially knowing the animal's history, so many abused and unloved animals invisible yet right before us.

Virgil I agree with Stuart, in spite of being a nice composition, with this PP the picture goes too much toward a drawing IMO, loosing the photographic spirit. Maybe the harsh treatment and the partial decoloration are too much in the same image.
But this is called experimenting.
