Default An unaggressive species

After a long morning hiking in the Danum Valley rainforest we stopped above a river and sat a bit. Just below us I saw these colorful flowers. You can see many more rainforest photos in the Borneo photo galleries on our site.

The flowers themselves are great but what intrigues me here is the background colouration in both shots. I have not seen that anywhere I have been.

Neil -

Thank you. As best I can recall, the first shot has out of focus leaves and sky, or it has out of focus reflection of leaves and sky in the river below. The seocnd shot has as its background an out of focus other side of the river, which is a clearing between the river and our lodging.
