Black-Hooded Parakeet

These birds are not native to North America, but there are naturalized populations in the wild after escaping or being released. This pair was perched high up on an oak tree in Malibu Creek State Park in Calabassas, California. They can be quite loud.

Very nice color, framing and moment, and I like that their attention mirrors one another's. I think I saw a large number of these in Buenos Aires.
