Default Why the !@#$% did you wake me!

In Chitabe, this lilac breasted roller (found throughout much of the continent) seemed to have just gotten up, and still had morning hair . You can see more of the animals in this area on the 1st and 2nd pages of Botswana photos on our site.

Stuart,
Wonderful! The bird must have been rolling around in the nest before it woke up!

Stuart,

That's a beautiful bird whose image you've wonderfully captured, even though it was having a bad hair day.

Wonderful Stuart.
You didn't wake him up but you took him away from his sun-bath.

Default what an extraordinary bird

a fine capture as well
I am wondering what focal length lens you used for this and about how much of the frame was cropped

Al - Thank you.

Arthur - Thank you. On the R8/DMR I was using the 80-200 with the APO 2X extender, probably zoomed tight. I THINK it is full frame, but I don't recall for certain. For most of the trip I used that set-up for wildlife, and the D2 for landscape, though each rig did visit the other's prime territory.

Ah, the Rirac Bleasted Lorrel . Botswana's national bird. You did well to capture it this way azgainst foliage, usually they are in the top of a leafless tree against the too-bright sky.
