Default Cheetah (2 images)

Our greatest disappointment when on safari in Tanzania some years ago was that we only saw one cheetah, and that one was at a distance. Imagine our thrill at Chitabe in the Okavango Delta of Botswana when our guide found us a mother cheetah with three seven-month old cubs, resting on a termite mound, surveying the moveable feast. We spent nearly an hour there, enjoying the sunset before heading back to camp. You can see more Cheetah photos on the second Botswana photo gallery page on our site.

Simply Magnificent !!!

Stuart,

You should be proud of yourself.
As both images work nicely, the 1st just keeps you exploring it...again and again.

We went to Busanga Plains specifically for Cheetah this year - none. You captured the behaviour excellently, Stuart . One thing - I believe they could use some more yellow, or is it this laptop I'm using?
How did you like Chitabe? Personally I preferred the Chitabe Trails camp.

Very nice Stuart.

How are the colors in the first one.... comparing it to the second shot they seam to be a bit off.

Still makes a nice image.

Peter - I agree.

Ivan - Thank you.

Jaap - Thank you. I think it was Chitabe Trails (Ken & Josephine were the managers, and andrea our outstanding guide).

Peter - thank you.

Peter & Jaap - The color in this series (you can see more evidence of this on the 4th page of Botswana photos on our site) was problematic. It was late in the day, and the cheetah were on the shady side of a termite mound, mixing the cool, blue late day shade wtih the warm sunlight that shows just a bit on some of the images. I struggled with the balance in post processing and am still not satisfied. I need more PP skills.
