Advertisement Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Hi fotografr, Take a look here "I Am A Mink!". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted July 31, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 31, 2014 Brent, A fine picture in defense of the mink. I don't wear mink coats and I think it is almost as bad killing them as I do the killing of elephants for their tusks. I have coats made of natural and synthetic fibers that are warm enough. stuny Posted July 31, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 31, 2014 Lovely. If many of the people who wear them realized that the coats make them look obese they might think twice, and find some other way of showing their wealth.
Bill W Posted July 31, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 31, 2014 It is a great shot. I agree about the uselessness of mink coats. I am not sure if you can buy a mink coat in Austin, TX today. It certainly is not cold enough anymore.
fotografr Posted August 1, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted August 1, 2014 It is a great shot. I agree about the uselessness of mink coats. I am not sure if you can buy a mink coat in Austin, TX today. It certainly is not cold enough anymore. We don't even see many here and it's definitely cold enough during our brutal winters. We had a couple of large furriers in town but the last one closed about a year ago. Thing is, there are so many good alternatives. In Russia, it's unusual to see people not wearing fur in the winter. Virtually everyone has a fur hat at the very least. I guess it's a cultural thing.
andkeen Posted August 1, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 1, 2014 Glad to hear the furriers in your area have closed. You are right about the "cultural thing" but so often this is just an excuse for appaling cruelty to the animals with whom we share our planet. Kind regards Andrew
Iduna Posted August 4, 2014 Share #7 Posted August 4, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Brent, this is an appealing picture. If you take this appeal seriously one would never kill an animal just for wearing a fun fashionable piece of clothing.
Hank Taylor Posted August 4, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 4, 2014 Yes, times have changed, growing up every woman who could afford a fur coat here in Chicago would buy one, not many could go to the extreme of mink however.. It's probably a good thing that the materials are so much better for warmth that it is unnecessary to buy fur. Hank
