Lächeln Anyone Want Some Beak ???

Sydney Seagull, slightly grumpy...

D2, available light at ISO100, slightly too close for safety...

Robert -

Terrific details, subject, setting, exposure and colors. I'd be tempted to crop some from the left. In the initial shot I would have been tempted to make it a vertical.

I think it's a great shot just as is.
I like the detail of the foliage as well as the bird...

Nice Catch Robert.

This one must be pretty tame to let you get this close.

Stuart, Philip, Leicamann and Peter -

Thank you for your kind comments - Stuart I agonised over the correct crop and composition for this one, I'll post the alternative shot on a nearby thread.

Philip - Thanks for your kind comments, the hardest part was the exposure difference between bird and background

Leicamann - Chips (frites) are the universal currency for British Seagulls - this one likes bread though !!

Peter - They aren't so much tame, as having no fear of humans. I live near the coast and the Gulls turn up at the bird table, along with the sparrows - the difference is they have to sit on the roof and hang down on both sides !!

Thanks for looking,

Robert,

Food is a good motivator

Must be fun to watch the Gulls to get at the bird food.
