mikej Posted August 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not sure if this is a supply problem or a product shutdown, but I don't see any new X2's or X-Varios on the B&H site. Only used products come up on search. Cheers, Mike

erickillinger Posted August 16, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2014 I meant to add to my last post the fact that the Leica Camera website has deleted the page with the brochures, technical specs, and instructions for all of the X cameras. I hope that this is only a temporary oversight, though it does lead me to wonder whether Leica Camera AG is planning to announce possible firmware updates ahead of Photokina in September. Still, B&H have new X cameras in stock, according to their website. A happy weekend to all.

Albert Andersen Posted August 29, 2014 Share #5 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) X_Vario prices. I just saw a price drop in Europe down to € 1.990,- equal to $ 2.600. The price was before the decrease $ 3.360. Also B&H prizes are down to $ 2.099,- Prices are general higher in Europe because of taxes. Does it look like the camera will be taken out of production? wda Posted August 29, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 29, 2014 That would be an unusually short shelf life for a modern Leica camera!

I hope it is not the same as what was years ago with the Digilux 3. It did not sell very good and as far as I can remember the price of the D3 droppend from approx 2500 € to 1850 €. colonel Posted September 3, 2014 Share #9 Posted September 3, 2014 The x vario is £1.449 now at r g Lewis with the millennium extras (case, grip, etc) free I still think it's better then the T if you only want the mid range zoom I don't think it's out of production, merely the price has sunk to the level the market is willing to pay

Lee Martin Posted September 4, 2014 Share #12 Posted September 4, 2014 Almost certainly but probably called the LX 100. Won't have interchangeable lenses but otherwise spec may beat X Vario hence price drop ?
timde Posted September 4, 2014 Share #13 Posted September 4, 2014 Almost certainly but probably called the LX 100. Won't have interchangeable lenses but otherwise spec may beat X Vario hence price drop ? I see it listed in most German stores at around 2400 €, not sure if that is even a price drop? In any case, if it was a drop (from 2800 or so) then that was because of the T which costs around 3000 € with the "same" lens and otherwise identical internals. colonel Posted September 4, 2014 Share #14 Posted September 4, 2014 The x Vario price in the UK is approaching that of the T zoom alone. Apart from the fact that I think the XV zoom is better it's a Leica bargain
