colonel Posted August 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2014 Hi all, has anyone used the Spot Focus? it seems awfully small to be able to collect light/contrast info etc.. For what situation would you recommend it's use? Many Tx in advance........... It is a common feature on most PDAF cameras now. It is useful for more accurate focusing, e.g. on someone's eye rather then general face or nose. For larger areas, like buildings, cars, people at a distance, etc. probably better to use large focus point, as the camera is less likely to get confused. Saying that I keep all my PDAF cameras on spot focus all the time as I appreciate the precision. rgds
papimuzo Posted August 19, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 19, 2014 Like the Colonel, I keep the one spot adjustement always on; it is giving me the lowest bad focusing statistics. Anyway, make your own tests and compare the results. Good pictures.
wda Posted August 20, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 20, 2014 My standard profile includes 1-Point focusing which is safe and accurate with general shooting. When I need extra precision I manually set to Spot, but revert to my standard profile.
