Keith (M) Posted July 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) On my M240 (& previously on an M9), the 'User Profile' line in the main menu would show which (if any) profile was selected. On my X-Vario, this is not shown. It seems one has to select the item and see which profile is highlighted on the next screen/sub-menu. Is this correct? If so, it is not exactly user friendly. Advertisement Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Hi Keith (M), Take a look here X-Vario User Profile Query. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
thighslapper Posted July 30, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 30, 2014 Yep ....... the user profile implementation is crap and as you cannot rename them you forget which is which anyway. To be honest, changing the usual parameters on the XV is so intuitive, easy and quick I just have a 'baseline' setting as user profile 1 ...... which I then use as a 'system reset' to wipe anything I have fiddled with.
wda Posted July 31, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 31, 2014 I do much the same and find it intuitive and quick. Though not so refined as on my M9.
asiafish Posted December 23, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 23, 2014 I wish I could rename them, but not a big deal. I have one set to my defaults for color and two set for monochrome. I only change the JPEG settings. On any other camera I wouldn't care at all about JPEG, but the JPEGs from the XV are so good that I rarely bother with the DNGs, especially for monochrome.
