Olympus VF-2 with X-Vario?

Quick question to X-Vario owners: does the Olympus VF-2 EVF work okay with your X-Vario?

You would think so because it works with the M and the X2. I ask because I have seen conflicting reports with the X-Vario.

Thanks

Thanks guys. Just checking.

Feeling very close to pulling the trigger on an X-Vario to complement my M9. Just waiting for the new 'T' announcement to take place.

If the rumour photos are anything to go by, the T is going to look like another me-too mirrorless NEX type of camera. No Leica design DNA.

I've had my finger close to the trigger on a XV for quite some months now, but all these other things pop up, like the upcoming T, the Panasonic GH4, and now the Sony A7S. Need to make some decisions in the relatively near future.

I also use the Olympus VF-2 on my XV. It works ok. One time I did get the blurry double vision in the EVF that I read Steve Huff also experienced. On/Off solved that. I originally thought they were identical EVFs (Oly & Leica) but after purchasing, I noticed the Leica one has a slightly different shape and I am now curious if the resolution / refresh rate is the same.

I am sure, technically, they are identical. I have the Olympus version and do find that the latch which secures the VF in horizontal position easily releases the top piece. So I have adapted my hold to preclude this where possible. I would be interested to learn if the Leica badged version behave in a similar fashion.

I also use the Olympus VF-2 on my XV. Most of the time, it works OK. From time to time, I get double contours or other crazy effects (partial images, sometimes green, and other...) when turning the camera on. On/Off solved that all the time for me.

Best regards, Gerd
