threeputt Posted June 19, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can't seem to find an answer to this, but does the X2 have this type of filter to help prevent moire`? As I understand it, the X1 did not, and that's one reason why it's images were so sharp. I asked this question of Leica Pre-Sales Support but have yet to hear back. Advertisement Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hi threeputt, Take a look here X2 - Optical Low-Pass or Anti-Aliasing Filter?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
threeputt Posted June 19, 2012 Author Share #2 Posted June 19, 2012 I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I searched the forum (and many others) but couldn't find anything. Jeff

Verteidiger Posted November 16, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 16, 2014 Thank you, got it. Reid writes, that the Ricoh A16 does not use an AA filter and that the Fuji X100 does use "very mild AA filtering". The X2 shows "very similar (somewhat lower) levels of detail" and this makes him "wonder, if perhaps they use the same type of AA filter." He continues that he "believe the company could get more out of the camera if they dropped the AA filter (as they've done on all of their higher end digital cameras)", and I agree with you that this can only mean that the X2 does use an AA filter, even though a mild one.
