Mixalis Posted August 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just published my review of the Leica T on MacFilos which you can find here. The camera and zoom were loaned by Leica Store Mayfair and I used my own M glass. wda Posted September 1, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 1, 2014 George, I agree. Maybe Leica T owners are too busy shooting and non-T owners only read reviews relevant to their current needs. It is a crowded world

Mixalis Posted September 1, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) HI MikeThat's a great review - and an enjoyable read, and the photos are good too. All the best Thanks, Jono, for your comments on the article and the photographs. You may recall we spoke briefly soon after I got the camera from Leica Mayfair. I was having some issues with manual focus. In the end it wasn't necessary to bother you further because, like you, a bit of trial and error solved the problem. It seems that every camera on which I try Leica lenses has its own focus quirks and needs practice. Currently, incidentally, I am trying Leica lenses on the poor old, unloved Canon EOS M which cost me all of £149. Is it a poor man's Leica T, I wonder? Have you had any experience? gbealnz Posted September 27, 2014 Share #15 Posted September 27, 2014 Thanks Mike. I just found this, and am about to read the review, I fear it will push me over the edge, I'm close to tipping anyway. If this new "T" it is half as enjoyable as my X1, I will be hooked. In the end I reckon I already am. Gary
Mixalis Posted September 28, 2014 Author Share #16 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) Thanks Mike.I just found this, and am about to read the review, I fear it will push me over the edge, I'm close to tipping anyway. If this new "T" it is half as enjoyable as my X1, I will be hooked. In the end I reckon I already am. Gary HI Gary, I answered your two queries on the site in case you didn't see them. I am sure you will like the T. Yesterday I was handling the black version and, frankly, I much prefer it to the silver. In particular, the black lens(es) and black viewfinder blend better with the silver. That said, I think the new Summitar-M lenses in silver will look fantastic on the silver T. Since I wrote the test there is a new contender in the form of the Leica X with its fixed 35mm-equivalent lens. This is more comparable with your X1 and, if you are happy with just the one lens I think the X needs serious consideration. With the 23mm (35mm equivalent) Summilux attached it will produce very comparable results to the T. The T is really for people who are looking for a system camera and will buy more than the one lens. The X, with its faster f/1.7 lens, appears to offer better value than the T. Thanks for your kind comments. gbealnz Posted September 29, 2014 Share #17 Posted September 29, 2014 Hi Mike, thank you as well. I am still on the fence with the T, and have contemplated the new X too. Really, the biggest issue I can see (for me) with the T, is the price. I will find one used, where a bit of the acquisition cost has depreciated, I hope. And in reality, I need to handle it a bit, as well as the new X and then decide. Until then the X1 it is. I was too quick with my query n your review, it wasn't until I viewed the T lens shots, and the M lens shots that I read where you quoted the 35mm equivalent focal length. Too late then tough, couldn't edit it. Gary

I've fallen into the same trap after a moment of confusion...
