SteveSFO Posted July 9, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 9, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) As you know, when you raise our T to use the Visoflex, there is a delay in the switch over from the LCD to the Visoflex. For those of us who do street photography, that delay will sometimes interfere with our ability to "get the shot" and can be frustrating. Some have suggested placing a thumb over the eyepiece to fool the camera to thinking there is an eye looking through the Viso. The problem is that unless you keep your thumb over the eyepiece right up to when you replace your thumb with your eye, the momentary switch over is enough at times to have the camera go back to the LCD. What I have found that works and wanted to share is a technique that seems to work. Holding the camera in front of us to either look at a control setting or even doing that "shoot from the hip" technique, if you find that you will need to use the Viso, bring the camera towards your chest and as you raise the camera to your eye, keep the camera close to your body and face as the camera approaches your eye. I've found that this is working for me and that I am not missing "the decisive moment" due to the lag time with having the Visoflex activate. Hope this helps. If anyone else have a technique that works, please share!

colonel Posted July 10, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 10, 2014 need a software addition, an app to choose between the EVF constantly or screen constantly or auto personally for "street" I find the LCD screen better to use but that's my taste
Guest ww@lt Posted July 10, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 10, 2014 obviously they forgot an important control button..... .....get a Lumix with EVF, they have it
thighslapper Posted July 10, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 10, 2014 (edited) I've found an old rubber eye-cup in a drawer that I think was for a binocular microscope or binoculars I have somewhere ..... conveniently it fits over the EVF and looks like an OM's eyeshield....... I have cut a round piece of Screen protector which fits in the handy recess on the EVF side of the eye-cup. As the EVF cuts in when ANYTHING is sensed in the way, when the rubber eye cup with the clear protector is fitted the EVF stays on permanently ........ This all took precisely 5 minutes to do ...... and works perfectly .......... ....... but of course you still have to take it off to access the menus, so it is only a partial fix..... stuny Posted July 10, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 10, 2014 Related to that, to have perfect stealth with this little gem, allowing us to turn off the LCD would be most helpful. Though I've not tried it, this was drummed home to me the last time we attended a NYC Ballet perfomance. During the intermission a secuity guard went to three attendees and had them delete photos they took of the performance via their cell phones. The telltale LCD screens gave them away. I agree that an option to turn off the LCD would be useful. In the M(240) recent firmware revision there is now an option to disable LV, which is very nice to have (you can still use the EVF). The M(240) also provides an option to turn off image review. Please Leica, consider these options for a T firmware revision.
