I was looking at BJP earlier today, my first thought was that the review might just be based upon using the camera during the press/pro session last week (the one Tim went to) at Leica Mayfair. It would be nice if it were more than that though, so I hope I'm wrong.

It is a review based on the 2 hour intro at Leica Mayfair. Unfortunately my magazine shows the article illustrated on page 3 with a Lumix GF1 instead of a photo of the S2 ... BJP does tend to make mistakes especially typos. Expect there will be an online review available from BJP later today or tomorrow but the magazine article is a 'taster' rather than an in depth review.

It looks like this will be a very nice camera. But how many will buy it when only two lenses are available? (70 and 180) Then two more in Spring.
What if you are mainly interested in getting the leaf shutter lenses, the zoom, the 24 and the TS? How long will that be? |

Now await a proper review from Sean Reid
. BJP have done their best considering their limited hands on time but hardly lives up to the 'exclusive review' and 'exclusive access' tasters in previous week's magazine. No doubt they will publish a very comprehensive review in due course. Cheers dunk

Thanks very much but you may want to also look to other sources as well for the immediate future. I have the S2 here now but am still also finishing up other reviews (of cameras that arrived before the S2) and will also be delayed in all of my work for some medical reasons. I will do an extensive review of the camera but, realistically, it can't be right away. Such is life sometimes - I have a lot of interesting lenses and cameras here now but only so many hours in a day. Meanwhile, Michael Reichmann is also reviewing the camera and I'm sure his report will be up before mine. There may be others done before me as well. Cheers, Sean |
