papango Posted April 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All I'm one of the proud owner of a Leica S Edition 100 set with the S type 006 with 70 and 30CS. But when i put the 30cs on the camera body, i cannot fire any picture ! The firmware is the latest one already so no need to upgrade. The 70cs is working well. Any idea before i get it back for service ? regards
Advertisement Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Hi papango, Take a look here Leica S type 006 + 30mm CS not firing. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Crackdlens Posted April 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2014 I'm sure you have done this, but just in case. Take the lens off, check the contacts on both lens and body to make sure some little price of unknown, didn't sneak on there and re seat. Make sure camera is off when doing this. Also try turning off, remove battery, turn on, turn off re install battery, turn on. Sounds goofy, but this can get rid of ghost in the machine. I would call Leica service first...they may have some coolio fix right over the phone. Other possibility is firmware may be corrupt and reloading will solve the issue. I'd change out memory cards too just to check. -T
papango Posted April 21, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted April 21, 2014 Yes Crackdlens Took an hour to check everything. Will call Leica service. Cannot reinstall the firmware, it just says "no update needed". The 70cs has no issue so it's all about the lens. Thank you.
mwilliamsphotography Posted April 23, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 23, 2014 Sent my S2-P in for service and received a loaner. The loaner wouldn't take a photo. I removed the battery, charged it overnight even though it didn't need it, and the next day it worked fine. Removing the battery overnight was the thing that did the trick. It resets the camera's internal battery. Try that before sending it off for service. - Marc
