xpixel Posted May 31, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 31, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Now available in the owner section of the S2 from the PDF description: The LEICA S2 raw data format complies with the specifications in the ADOBE DNG 1.3.0.0 standard (June 2009). This enables DNG-compatible raw data converters to be used in your photo workflow. As a result, products such as Capture One 6 from Phase One can be used. To improve the color characteristics of the Leica S2 data, we now offer an ICC color profile, which has been specially developed for the LEICA S2. Advertisement Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Hi xpixel, Take a look here S2 Color Profile. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mwilliamsphotography Posted June 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 1, 2011 Loaded it and S2 RAW images show up in Phase One Capture One Pro-6. This is a major processing development for the S2. Now to find out if tethered operations can be used. Probably not, but stay tuned. -Marc

Now to find out if tethered operations can be used. Probably not, but stay tuned. -Marc Marc, The only way to tether an S2 into C1 is to use Leica Image Shuttle and have C1 import from a hot folder. LR is currently the only program that can tether directly. Incidentally, S2 DNGs have always shown up in C1, just with lousy color. I created a custom ICC camera profile for the S2 over a year ago that vastly improved color response in C1, but it didn't address demosaicing artifacts. An ICC profile only addresses color, not how the converter interprets the file. I will be taking a look today to see how the new Leica profile compares with the one I created and if C1 v6 has done anything to clean up the conversion artifacts. My take is that it is great to have options, but that LR is still going to be the primary choice for most S2 users due to superior workflow, asset management and the excellent set of tools that LR provides. Who knows what is in store for LR4 as well. Adobe is a powerhouse in the world of imaging. I would expect nothing less that continual progress and truly believe that Leica made the right choice in partnering with them for all future products. mwilliamsphotography Posted June 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 1, 2011 Actually, I agree with you David. This is nice for those who prefer C1 ... but I'm not really one of them. LR is so fast for my work that I've never become very proficient at C1. I hope Leica keeps at the profiles for Lightroom. The red bias has to be addressed. -Marc

Jamie Roberts Posted August 23, 2011 Share #6 Posted August 23, 2011 Hi folks, I'm wondering if someone could please send me the ICC profile for the S2 and Capture 1? I have the use of an S2 but no owner's registration so I can't get to the owner's area on leica.com to get it. I've also been working with my own C1 V6 S2 "hacked" profile and I like it; but I'd like to have the official profile Thanks in advance! 120 Posted September 19, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am wondering if anyone uses Capture One with the S or S2? Also wondering if this profile is still in the owner's area, and if it would be usable with the S? I use C1 pro 7 with other cameras and would really prefer not to use an additional raw converter. jpk Posted November 13, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 13, 2015 It's still in the owners area, but there is no hint if it's also suitable for the 006...
