ironringer Posted February 23, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Could R camera users please tell me how to separate the front-top from the bottom-base of the typical R eveready case, as shown with my R4MOT? I am sure I attached a male pin into a socket at the back, but now I can't separate them, no matter what orientation I try. I don't want to pull or push in any direction too strongly. Advertisement Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Hi ironringer, Take a look here How to separate top/bottom R eveready case?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dpitt Posted February 23, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2015 The pin on the cap needs to be pushed upwards until you hear a click. Then it can be pulled backwards to unclip from the body. I think this can only be done when the case is opened (cap hanging from the back)
sc_rufctr Posted February 24, 2015 Share #3 Posted February 24, 2015 What Dirk wrote. Just push it up as you look at it. Once you've done it you'll wonder why it seemed so difficult. If you want I'll post a pic.
gisling Posted March 4, 2015 Share #4 Posted March 4, 2015 The Leica R case pin is too tight, I filed off the sides of the pin a littleI just a little bit )to make it easier to remove and put back.
Aussierob78 Posted August 29, 2021 Share #5 Posted August 29, 2021 Just found this thread, it also is the same for the M series film case. I got one for my MP (fits M6 / M7 and others) and it's the same lock style.
a.noctilux Posted August 29, 2021 Share #6 Posted August 29, 2021 As I don't use case for years (decades ?), I remember that there is an arrow stammed on one part. Checked on my M case from the 1980's, it is there, this arrow can be misunderstood, and if not oriented the right way (upward ! ), I was not able to separate the two parts. Understand it when the parts were separated, the fixing device is very clever and works well over time.
andrew01 Posted September 10, 2021 Share #7 Posted September 10, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use the Leica cases for both M and R. The first thing I do is remove the front flap and put it in storage. I agree the locking pins can be a bit tight. The Leica cases are very high quality leather, better than any other case you can buy in my opinion.
