M9 vs M (240) for black and white

I'm curious about which of these is better for black and white conversions. The CCD crispness (illusory or not) might favour M9, whilst the more tangible greater dynamic range of the M (240) should give more processing latitude. Would love a Monochrom of course but find it difficult to afford / justify....

I went from the M8.2, a stellar b/w camera, to the M240 (skipping the M9). I'm impressed with both color and b/w print results, enough that the M8.2 sits idle.

Plus the M is so much nicer as an RF machine than its predecessors IMO…better RF, quieter and smoother shutter mechanism, longer battery life, faster processor, better weather sealing and illuminated frame lines optimized for 2m. LV and EVF just give more options, but can be ignored/disabled. And without the sensor corrosion issues potentially affecting the M9 and MM.

In truth, any of these cameras are plenty good enough for generating fine b/w prints, depending on the user and a disciplined overall workflow. For screen shots, no need to be particular.
