Lundberg Posted February 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I turn on my fully charged leica m9 The red light goes on for a second. I can acces them menu once and then the camera completely dies. I have to remove the battery to get it back to life. Every time then I can maybe do one picture or access the menu once before the camera goes dead and has to be restarted by removing the battery Anyone experienced this?? bobbywise Posted February 6, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 6, 2015 I'm pretty new to the M9 and MM, and haven't witnessed issues so far. But maybe it's your SD card giving these issues ? Try another SD card (fingers crossed for you).
Jeff S Posted February 6, 2015 Share #3 Posted February 6, 2015 Try another battery, too. Jeff
wda Posted February 6, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 6, 2015 Lundberg, no I haven't. Is it a Leica battery? Try another battery. Try resetting to factory defaults. I realise this is worrying for you, but further trials will eliminate obvious variables.

pico Posted February 7, 2015 Share #7 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) The battery might not be a real Leica. If it is real Leica then it is not fully charged, or it is defective Just one way to tell a counterfeit battery is shown below. Lundberg Posted February 7, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted February 7, 2015 Thanks for the feedback. I have tried to read the card in the computer but it is completely dead. The ad card must be the problem. I'll go buy a new one today. Any suggestions for a good card?

Lenshacker Posted February 7, 2015 Share #10 Posted February 7, 2015 Thanks for the feedback. I have tried to read the card in the computer but it is completely dead. The ad card must be the problem. I'll go buy a new one today. Any suggestions for a good card? I prefer the Sandisk 8GByte 4x cards, and PNY 8Gb 4x cards. I've seen the "extreme" cards and 10x cards cause some banding at highest ISO.
