rick the click Posted December 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a 2 week old Leica Monochrom and lately when I turn it on it does not turn on and I have to remove the battery and reinstall it and then it starts as normal. Anyone else with this problem? Please advise.

J M Hughes Posted December 12, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 12, 2014 Try formatting your memory card, and keep card(s) exclusively for the MM - try not to use them in other cameras. Also, try another card. The MM/M9 is happiest with older slower Class 4 cards. Newer high-speed, high capacity SDHC cards should function okay (albeit without any increase in write speed due to the 'slow' reader in the MM), but not SDXC types. jaapv Posted December 12, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 12, 2014 Yes, but that can hardly explain not turning on.Is the battery charger working OK?
Guest Posted December 12, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 12, 2014 Yes, but that can hardly explain not turning on.Is the battery charger working OK? And have you charged the battery correctly ,not just a short charge period then try out the camera. Brianp
jcraf Posted December 12, 2014 Share #6 Posted December 12, 2014 I had a similar problem with my first MM the first time I did a shoot with it, 3 days after purchase. It was judged to be faulty by the dealer and replaced straight away. No problems with the new one in over a year (same memory card type used in both).
