Interested how much the average M9 is used and how many actuations they are now on, some being 5 years old.

I bought mine in 2012, M9-P it's now hit 18,000 shutter actuations, goes with me most of the time and unusual not to be without a shot in a week or so.

I know some were 50k plus before the M240 came out, is my camera an average, high or low user

I bought mine new in 2011 and sold it a month ago with around 3000. The reason it had so few was I used it only for travel, and I shoot digital as though it were film, as I hate culling thousands of images just because they are "free". Also I have an EOS system and it let me get away with jpgs requiring only some sharpening whereas the M9's jpgs were unsatisfactory and thus I had to shoot DNG and post process, which I dislike immensely. I expect my M240 will have many more actuations as I'm back to shooting jpgs and haven't used my 5D nearly as much since getting the M240.

I bought my M9 well used with over 40k+ actuations (at a good price..and with a newly replaced sensor) a month ago...Just checked shutter count...it's approaching 49k now~~

not a low shutter count for a month I guess...but that was because I snapped quite a lot of photos in the first two weeks while I was trying to get the rangefinder coupling to work properly...

Bought in early 2010

58.696 actuations according to M9Info... :o

Reasons are

- I almost never leave home without it (changed a bit since I own a Ricoh GR)

- I'm a very average photographer and frequently need a few shots to halfway nail it

- However I try to compensate lack of talent with enthusiasm...

There you go...

It was 11k + when the sensor was replaced 6 months ago. I've put another 3k on since. The sensor was dirty despite all my efforts to clean. I sent the camera to Leica NJ along with a lens to code. It came back with a new sensor, new covering and a zero capture count. Kinda like a new camera. I ordered my M9 in late 2009 and it arrived in early 2010.

Being an old 4x5 shooter, I rarely shoot more that 50 exposures in a day. Often less than 20.

Can someone tell me how to get the actuation count on my M9? I opened an image in Preview to get the image unique ID, which I read was what I needed to calculate it, but this number wasn't a hex number, I don't think. It was a huge number without any letters in it.

If I had to guess, I probably haven't taken more than 2000 shots with it (bought it new). I'm going to sell it and I want to be able to give a potential buyer an accurate number.

Anyone able to help me out?
