I thought you had both, why not try? Personally I prefer the f1.0 and 50AA on mine...

I love the Monochrom + 0.95 combo. Here are some samples.

Now you've gone and done it. I was sure I'd paired the 0.95 Noctilux with the MM. I searched my LR files and couldn't find that combination! :confused:For some reason, I've been sticking to the old Mandler lenses on the Mono or the occasional Zeiss. I think I've read too many posts about how magical the Mandler's are on the Mono ( they are), but now I will go out of my way to put the Karbe Nocti on the MM!

The bizarre thing is I have both, but I've never been tempted to use the Noctilux on the MM; it stays glued to the M9.

I think I see soft glowing color and hard sharp monochrome.

I have the 1.0 Noctilux but I have not tried it on my MM because it too is glued to the M9.

OH MAN !!! This post just cost me $10K

Am so sorry....was not my intention at all. But if you do have the Noct and the MM you can really create magic.

Right, ok I know with any lens and camera in the right hands you can create magic...unfortunately I am not that blessed. However, with the Noct and the MM, if you are willing to work with the weight and practice focusing it wide open...when the stars are aligned you get images that are painted like no other lens+camera combination can....at least in my humble opinion.

Have to admit that when I first got the lens, there is a tendency to go crazy with shooting it wide open but after a while you begin to appreciate how the Noct paints and draws in light. I have the M240 as well but I really find that I prefer using the 0.95 on the MM as I find that I have color aberrations using the Noct on the M240 which I think the APO 50 is perhaps a better combination in that aspect.

With the Noct + MM what I really love about the combination is for low light work capability that the combination literally sees in the dark with the light gathering power of the Noct and the MM ability to push all the way to ISO10000. In the above pictures of the model, the place where I was shooting was actually relatively dark but with the Noct and the MM and using what natural light there was and off course the very lovely model, the above shots were made possible - courtesy to Peter Karbe and the Leica elves in Solm :)

By the way, I have experimented with different accessories to enable me to focus wide open with the Noct 0.95 on my MM and I find using the following really improves nailing the focus at wide open with the Noct + MM combo - Leica hand grip + Thumbs Up + MS Optical Magnifier 1.35 + Soft Release as shown in my MM below. By the way, I do not recommend or advocate burying the MM in snow.
