Monochrom Preview Blurred?

I've not seen this problem before. I have version 1.002 on a Monochrom. If I shoot either RAW or RAW+JPEG, then as you zoom in to preview the picture on the screen, the details are blurred. If I shoot the same shot, etc, but use JPEG, the picture displays sharp, as expected, when previewing on the screen. The RAW file is fine when viewed on the computer.

Is this a known problem? I've tried reset, etc, and it doesn't fix it.

Thanks

Bill

Same thing with my Monochrom, the image never becomes sharp when previewing it. It does take a few seconds before it becomes at all clear, but it's still very pixelated and unsharp no matter how long time I wait. I did not have this problem with my M9.

Yes, I've waited. It isn't a pixelated image, but a blurred rendering. It seems to be connected with the RAW file, as shooting just with a JPEG is fine. Histogram is fine. Have tried both reformatting of SD card and reset of the camera. Same behaviour as Maximillian reports

If you view the image at maximum magnification the rendering will break down, making it quite soft. It is better if you pull one click back. The M9 is the same, the M8 and M240 do not show this behavior. It has something to do with the processing power of the camera, I believe.

Yes, it does appear a little better, but still more blurred than I'd ideally like (oh well!). I took a closer look at the JPG at this setting, and I think some of the sharpness of the JPG is due to the processing for contrast, etc, that rendering for the JPG does. If you look at text on white, the text renders a bit darker (so looks sharper) in the JPG than the RAW file, so that probably contributes a bit to the softer look of the RAW file.

I got to try this on another Monochrom today, and we saw the same thing, so I think it is a limitation in the rendering of the camera itself.

Thanks for all the suggestions,

Bill

Yes this is normal, making it impossible to check focus when shooting RAW with the MM.
