Peter H Posted February 5, 2013 Share #7 Posted February 5, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) And thanks to Jono of course, but to you Andy also. I've noticed the data on the loaf of bread photo is probably wrong, but that's no big problem. On a very quick initial glance at the DNGs I've downloaded (even the word "look" would be overstating it) they appear very impressive. Like you Andy and no doubt many others, I'll spend some time tonight with them.
johnbuckley Posted February 5, 2013 Share #8 Posted February 5, 2013 To Andy, thanks for conveying. To Jono, thank you for taking exactly the kinds of lovely photos most useful to us in trying to figure how the M draws. Wonderful photos, highly useful. Next time Leica has a new camera coming out, we intend on stalking you, knowing you will have the goods, and take the loveliest photos.

andybarton Posted February 5, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted February 5, 2013 I have downloaded the jpgs and they are looking very nice indeed. Jono - are you allowed to divulge what level of firmware these were taken with? I am assuming that any from Copenhagen were taken in October, but alpine ones would have been later. Are they with different firmware?

I guess it'll get tweaked in the next few hours. All the best

Jono - are you allowed to divulge what level of firmware these were taken with? I am assuming that any from Copenhagen were taken in October, but alpine ones would have been later. Are they with different firmware? Hi Andy There are three levels of firmware, but changes were very small. They are all with pre production firmware. Basically the camera I had in Copenhagen was already taking lovely files, changes since then have been dealing with small issues rather than real IQ problems. leffe Posted February 5, 2013 Share #14 Posted February 5, 2013 Thank you very much. Giving us your DNG files is really cool! And they are good photographs, by the way! Very well done!
Stealth3kpl Posted February 5, 2013 Share #15 Posted February 5, 2013 Jono, I wonder if you can remove the section "The Successor To The M9". The waiting list is long enough as it is Pete
colint544 Posted February 5, 2013 Share #16 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) Those DNGs look absolutely stunning. The tomatoes in the still life, and the side-lit snow have subtleties of tone and colour gradation that are incredible. dwbell Posted February 5, 2013 Share #19 Posted February 5, 2013 As expected, skin tones are a problem. There's some horrible blue smudging on the boys nose.
hejenk Posted February 5, 2013 Share #20 Posted February 5, 2013 All this hard work merits a holiday in Loutro with the new M - it would be lovely to see those colours with this camera. Great shots, can't wait for mine to arrive.... Hugh
