Pictures with Leica M9 and Noctilux classic

I'm a brand new M9 owner and have been considering various lenses.

One of them was the older Noctilux. Judging by your photographs,

the Noctilux just got pushed up the ladder.

As well, you mention it's quite heavy, but I imagine coming from a

full bodied Canon SLR, it's still a bit lighter.

Thanks for sharing!

I would say it's a lot smaller and lighter than 85L and maybe equal to 50L in size and weight. It was a long time since I had those so I could remember wrong.

"Big & Heavy" is a relative comment. I have come from a substantial Hasselblad kit to 'Leica world'. There is no way a Leica kit could be classified as big & heavy after my experience. The M9 + Noctilux is a fabulous combo, but compared to using, say, any f2.0 lens it is bigger and heavier.

Frankly, I have never experienced any serious bit of gear that was not bigger and heavier than 'toy' stuff, so 'get used to it' is the only message. It is worth the extra energy and every advantage has a price to be paid.

I'm just grateful it is an option.
