1. place distance to infinity
2. press go to begin playing
3. when the arrow points to 0 begin focusing (No cheats here)
4. press the trigger to begin shooting and killing
5. only record and report the time if the picture is sharp and you are happy with

OK, I'll bite!

I decided that holding my M8 at the exact close-focusing point of the lens was cheating too, so moved back a little...

My mode* was 2.0 seconds dead to get a sharp photo. Blinking hard to crank a pre-aspherical Summilix 50 round from infinity!

Out of interest, I tried the shutter lag thing too - which is more a measure of reaction time, I guess: the mode of six goes was 0.125 second.

Actually this is a nice way to check how fast an M is. Of course we know it's fast and responsive but how much? Before mine go to service I believe I had record 1.5s. But it seems, not many are interested... Anyway
