Saturday i was discussing with my dealer the focus problem with the LUX 35mm ASPH. He told me
1. The front/backfocus problem is a problem each lens with 1.4 has. 2. The M8.2 has less focus problems then the M 8 (with the same lens) Any comments ? |

The M8.2 uses the same rangefinder as the M8, nothing has changed in that area, so I'd say your dealer is full of.
True since the release of the M8 Leica has tightened up there RF adjustments. So new M8.2's and later release M8's may focus better then early M8's but the original M8's can be adjusted to these tighter tolerances and focus just as well as any M8.2. focus problems is a camera specific problem. I have a 50 f1/.4 ASPH that has always focused perfectly at any aperture and some have had 35 f/1.4 ASPH's that do not show a great degree of focus shift. Others have had that same 35mm lens that are totally useless. |

During the course of 2008 Leica started using a new rig for RF adjustment, which was considerably more accurate that the old method. It may well be that this created this impression with the dealer.
