Lächeln A Positive Service Experience - New Jersey

As with almost all service organizations negative posts usually outnumber positive experiences as frustrated customers are far more likely to post their experiences, it's natural (I worked for a software company so I have a little experience in support forum postings). So it is with that in mind that I thought I would like to mention my really positive experience with the New Jersey service team.

My M8 (pretty early release) had developed a "shutter re-cocking" problem that had the camera sounding like it was on "continuous mode" when shooting single frames, running on at times until I had to pull the battery. After reading about it here on the forum and having it happen more and more often I decided to send the camera in for service a few weeks ago.

The problem was that I am doing some shoots in early December and really wanted to have the M8 available. To my very pleasant surprise I received my camera back from New Jersey after only a few weeks, working and looking better than ever. It was repaired under warranty and was cleaned and adjusted. They certainly beat Nikon's performance when I had the BGLOD (Blinking Green Light of Death ) on my old D70 or when they fixed the sticking aperture blades on my 35mm af prime.

Kudos to Colleen and Peter (I believe) who made the repair a fast and pleasant experience!

Kent

ps- I know that some others have had other experiences and this post is not intended to diminish their experiences or certain challenges that may exist with select repairs.
