I've got to admit, myself, I shoot DNG only but I was reading Scott Kelby's weekly blog this morning and came upon a post by Michael Tapes (Imagenomic) about his new FREE download which automatically extracts a JPEG from DNG or RAW files. Everybody was raving about it. I tried it this morning and it is really fast.

It's called "Instant JPEG from RAW Free Utility" or IJFR and here's the link:

Make sure you read the installation manual pdf (it's short and to the point). I'm running a Mac 10.4.11 (can't remember the feline right now) and it does NOT automatically open as a package. You have to drag it into a specific folder which took half a second. Also, no need to shut your computer down.

Then you Control (or right) click on the DNG file or files and use the contextual menu to select "Instant JPEG from RAW". It then creates a folder in that folder in which the JPEGs are placed. Did I say it was really fast?
