I agree, it is depressing... maybe it was the other one that he thought was Trinidad? Never having been there I've no idea what it looks like.

I'm curious Sean in what respects as Erwins take didn't read all that positive to me. I'm only asking because I'm contemplating this lens as a purchase and didn't use it that much when I tested it to come to a positive conclusion. The images I've seen from it seemed a bit flat even to my older non asph. Leitz lenses.

Resolution - primarily. Across its field, at six feet, it did very well in my testing. The results will, of course, look somewhat flat because the 75 Summarit is a moderate contrast lens. Whether that's a pro or a con will depend on the photographer. On this forum alone one can often read posts from people who like or dislike a given lens specifically because of its high contrast.

You might find it useful to start a 75 Summarit thread (or maybe there's a good one already) and see what people who own the lens think of it. I know that there are already some comments in this thread.
