I try to make newer SD card work in the M8 and have already played around with the firmware - but not yet succeeded. Did anyone figure out how to make it work?

Check the Leica website and click on FAQs, and you will read the following:
"2. Compatibility
2.1 Why can’t SDHC-standard memory cards be used in the LEICA M8?
The SDHC standard is an extended type of SD standard. This takes very extensive updating of the camera’s SD driver to accommodate them. Leica is working on such updates and will supply them in future firmware versions.
You may want to print out the entire FAQs pages and keep them for reference.They are useful.

IF, and that is A BIG IF, someone has figured out how to do it I am sure it would of been posted here already.

I certainly wasn't shouting. I merely listed the quote from the FAQ's in bold and suggested constructively and in the best possible spirit that Citrus might want to print out the Leica FAQ's for reference. I did, and I found them very helpful. Perhaps in the future I should write in a substantially reduced font so as not to impact your eardrums. Whoops, there I go again.

Thanks - then I will need to wait for the softeware specialists of Leica to figue out how to make this work. Knowing Leica I will need to be patient...... hmmm.... krrrr....
