Default M8 Hack

This had to come some day...

So, has anybody hacked their cams?
Something like installing linux in the firmware or similar?

This is a joke isn't it?

Then again there is a web browser built into the standard firmware and disassembling the firmware shows that there are some calls to Wifi op codes.

Or for giving the profiles a name...
Specifically this shouldn't be to hard to do.

Default AW: M8 Hack

I've hacked the bottom plate of my M8. It now works also as bottle opener. No new software needed.

Are there cooking recipes too, like in MAC OS?
Just in case you were wondering how to make pie, while being on a trip to the north pole with your M8.

I'm just surprised that I haven't seen a hacked cam yet, not even a Canon.
People seem to be eager to hack an Ipod, but not a cam.

It could be fun to see some M8 files without the 8bit truncation and things like that...

Not need to do it ourselves... Leica does it for us

Maybe one day we will get a firmware bug free... let's dream...

I would like to be able to give a profile a name: for instance when I attach the supplied cable to the camera, I can control the camera functions; why not set a few registers or manage some names ourselves .... such as Profile 1 = Velvia; Profile 2 = Tri-X; Profile 3 = PAN-X. It would be a help to max out the capabilities.
Not really a software hack...
