I went to the Sumo tournament in LA today, with a bag of Canon lenses and a DSLR, and an M8 around my neck. Unfortunately, the security folks there told me I couldn't bring in the Canon, even with just the 50 f/1.4. I pointed to the M8 and the person in charge said, sure, that's not a problem. I did notice a few people got in with their DSLRs, and maybe I would have, too if I hadn't had five lenses in a bag, but I'm sure glad I had the Leica with me on this trip.

I am glad it worked out for you to have the M8 but am sorry that you were not able to use the other cameras which may have been more suited for Sumo. I have only gone once to see and took my DSLR and the 200mmF2 lens with it which is big enough to scare most police officers. But then again, this is Japan and there is a great balance between security and common sense.
You can see my pictures at my web site and I am curious to se how yours turned out. Best wishes, Arif |

They were selling posters for $100, so maybe they're afraid they might lose a sale. ![]() |
