Default Zeiss finder bonus

Recently I picked up a Zeiss 18mm Distagon . As the 18 translates to about 24mm I went shopping for a 24mm finder. The Leica finder I finally found was in Mint- condition, yet the bright lines were difficult to see. Another Leica 24 finder was similar. The 25 Zeiss was expensive, but it was strongly recommended.
I decided to order a Zeiss 25/28 finder.
I though the build quality of the Zeiss finder was superb, (as is their 18 lens); bright frame lines, large exit pupil, ..... with glasses I could see the whole frame.
The real bonus for me though was that the rubber eyepiece of the Zeiss unscrews, and by sheer coincidence a Nikon diopter screws in perfectly.
I am an eyeglass wearer, but for years have always used screw in diopters (-4) on my M's.
Finders have always been a pain because, a diopter in the finder of the camera meant a diopter in the external finder. The Leica finders (excepting the very latest multi finders), had no provision for diopters. I usually ended in taping a diopter on somehow. Ugly, and not the best solution.

Anyway, the large exit pupil of the Zeiss matched with the large Nikon $12 diopter (real cheapo) is perfect. The Nikon diopter fits like it was made for the Zeiss.
Also, -4 can be used. Zeiss and Leica make only up to -3.

sorry to go on

It's the little things ......

i HAVE SIMILAR Thing. I have nikon-SB28 flash for my F100 camera. I have used for Leica m8 with Auto, and in the v/f I can see flash ready symbol. So Nikon must have used same pin for flash ready signal.

Interesting indeed. Which correction lens is this? For Nikon FA, FM2 and FE2 bodies?

Both diopters have the same diameter. One package for one says for FA, but I think all fit. The FA has a smaller profile, and is the "perfect looking and fitting" one. The diopter for the F of F2 is bigger in area around the viewing glass. The glass, and thread size are the same for both.
I will try to send a shot of it later this evening
