Default M8 use with 35mm Hexanon, any advice please

I've just entered the world of M8 use and the lens I'm currently using with it is a Hexanon 35mm with a Leica UV/IR filter. Obviously it's not a coded lens and I think it's difficult to code due to the positioning of one of the screws ( I've tried a couple of times with a "sharpie" and it's not recognising it as a "35"). How should I set the menu when using this lens regarding IR and lens recognition, etc. If anyone else is using this lens and has any other advice it would be greatly appreciated too.

Send it off to DAG for permanent coding:

On the bottom left of your picture is what looks like a coded Hexanon 50/1.2 Limited Edition. Did DAG do the coding for you. Is it a new mount since I can't see any sign of the screw hole where the coding goes.

I'd like to get my Hexanon coded, it's a very nice lens.

Bob.

Don A Goldberg at DAG Camera Parts

He does excellent work and in many cases can fix problems (like focus optimisation of lenses) which people have sent multiple times to Solms without success. Understandably he is very very busy.

Best to ask him if there's a particular lens you want coded.

Bob.

DAG will do the coding and cover the screw hole with some kind finish.
