"Love for pictures" with "L" styled like the "L" of Leica in the SM body engraving... is a letter that i have always liked for its style... I even tried to change my natural signature to have such a "L" at first (gave up, of course...
)And, to exagerate .... "for" ... o=red dot... |

Hi Bill,
I've been travelling on safari, just back with some images that I'll be posting. You can count me in for 6 copies of the book. I'll send you an email anyway. How's this for a suggested title "M8 LIFE" ? Thanks for driving this project and well done for your efforts! Regards, MIKE KIRKINIS |

A reminder, and I'll be including this in details you'll get starting next week:
When I ask you for the image to go in the book, don't put a visible photog's credit in it (like a copyright notice). You can put this in the metadata file. You can imbed it in the image using software that lets you do this, and it is then invisible. We'll have a general copyright notice at the front of the book. I plan to use the following: The pictures in this book were taken by photographers from around the world with a single camera, the Leica M8 rangefinder Photographic credits for each picture are contained in the Appendix © Copyright 2008 by the photographers. All rights reserved. Photographs may not be copied or redistributed without the photographer's permission. Edited by William Parsons In the appendix, we'll list the photographer's credit for each picture. I will be asking each of you for a CD with your final image on it. I'll also be asking how you want the picture "framed" if it doesn't fill the page fully. As an example, any portrait orientation will not fill the horizontal page. You can go to the Blurb.com site and download their book software for free. Using this software you can "build" a copy of a book that would have your pictures in it. This way you can see how various "frames" look with your picture. For pix that do not fill the page, I was planning a small frame around the picture with the rest of the surround in white, gray, or black. I'll ask for your preferences before long. Some real world stuff -- we are at 99 photogs and 270 images. Loosely, that translates to about 140 pages. In the 8x10 horiz size, that will be around US$37 for softcover and US$50 for hardcover. We have an option -- in the hardcover version only -- for images printed on the cover instead of a slipcover. the price would be US$53. Please go look at the blurb site. You'll get an idea of what the book will look like -- and -- you can see your pix on the page as they will appear in the book. Regards. Speak to you soon,

I am trying to post my 3 photos in the thread that is repeatedly referred to here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-...ite-photo.html. I am clicking on the big red link in the first post of this thread. The page I get says: "No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" -- which I did. How can I post my photos. Wait...When I click on my own typed version of the link in the first post,
I get to the photo forum and can select 'other' and then find the appropriate thread, but the link there is .../other/52743-m8-first birthday-favorite-photo.html (ie the number 34828 in the link in the first post in this thread which doesn't work is different from the number 52743 in the link for the right thread in the photo forum. Probably I am confused. Last edited by mweiner : 05/18/08 at 01:19 PM. |

M, I have had some problems with links, too.
You can go to the Photo Forum/Other and find the thread. The link below comes from that process and goes to the Last Page http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-...-photo-13.html Regards,

Instead, you might say, "The pictures in this book were taken by photographers from around the world using only Leica M8 cameras." |
